What's Drupal for the large scale website?

What is Drupal?

Drupal is an open source web content management system that allows you to quickly and easily create simple to complex website that span everything from a simple blog to a corporate website, a social networking website or virtually anything you can dream up.

Drupal Stack

Drupal is developed in PHP programming by Dries Buytaert in year 2000, All core Drupal code and Extended module developed in PHP and can work well with database like MySql, PostgreSql. In Drupal 7+ SQLite is now also supported. Drupal is long history run on Apache webserver, Drupal ships with .htaccess files that secure the Drupal installation. Clean URLs are avaliable by using webserver's URL rewriting capabilities. Drupal can run successfully on any operation system that support PHP like Linux, Mac OSX, Windows...

Drupal Core

You can download Drupal core for providing the basic functionality that will be used to support other parts of the system, the core includes code that allows Drupal system to bootstrap when it receives a request, a library of common functions frequently used with Drupal, and modules that provide basic functionality like user management, taxonomy, and templating. The core also includes the basic functional building blocks for most web sites, including feed aggregation, blogging, polls and forums.

Large Scale Drupal (LSD)

Acquia launched the Large Scale Drupal membership program to help and enable large organizations to get the most value from open source software. Large Scale Drupal (LSD) is a strategic alliance of organizations that meet regularly to collaborate on and solve common problems. Acquia provide a forum for enterprise users, listen to and prioritize their needs, and then figure out how to address those needs through knowledge sharing, training, and software development. Large Scale Drupal members share their development costs with other members. For a fraction of the cost of developing independently, they get significantly better software built by some of the most talented people in the community. In turn, the Drupal community continues to develop and improve the solution, and welcomes an influx of expert talent into the contributor pool. Acquia are also making strategic, long term investments in the platform. A portion of member fees go to our "future fund," which we are currently using to support three vital Drupal 8 initiatives (these are being led by the community, not LSD).

This funding will accelerate the development process, helping to speed up release cycles for future versions of the platform, and ultimately increasing the pace of innovation. LargeScaleDrupal.com is searching for new ways to engage companies in the open source process and help them become even more successful with Drupal. This can radically change the way business works with open source software For full tutorials all about Drupal, I plan to create article again on my drutor.com website and invite everyone tha love drupal can share to me again on drutor.com
